Flutterbys Closing Statement

I've quite enjoyed the opportunity to create a blog and upload my own work and to see it on an internet page its unlike anything else i've done. I found what to post hard, as nothing seemed important enough to be put on a website for the public to see but soon as i figure out what i wanted i found it a more quicker and up to date method of a diary type document rather than just a folder with sheets in. I think this gives more of a personality to who ever is reading it, you gain an insight. I wanted my blog to give an impression or a taste of my personality my work and show that fashion is current in my life away from the course with the events i go to throughout the year. I would recommend this for future years, it's so easy once you get the hang of it most people are used to facebook and myspace and this is similar.
The Fashion Capital Powerpoint
There were three people working on my project, i set up the slides, order, font, topics within the specified topics, different images to use and i sorted out how to put on the music on all of the slides. While another created a leaflet to pass around and helped with the slide and the other got information and pictures.
The construction i found easy as i had noted down from Jane the order of assembley, i did it as neat and precise as i could especially with the curved seams. It helped that my housemate was happy to model for me when it came to the Toile review. This i think was the most helpful as we had both technical and design tutors and to stand back and look at your work for the first time. The alterations i listed, to interface hood- i thought maybe with a caramel browny colour, shorten the front, take in the sides to make it more fitted,to take the shoulder darts out of the back and to give some ease in the sleeves- maybe to do something different to the cuffs.

This is the working drawing i have been copying from, when creating my pattern. The pattern itself is really quite complicated and when i think i have only made the shorts ect in constructioin this was quite a challange and with 3 tables to draw and cut out the pattern it was hard to get studio time as there is loads of us. So i used a wallpaper table and tried to do most in the sunshine.
This was my first design that i'd actually come up with in an ict lesson as my mind was on the brief we'd just been given and i was quite exicted about it so i doodled some ideas in my notebook then copied them out into my sketchbook.I was really exicted by this idea as my detail in how it would look, was clear in my sketches , this is why i think Az chose this design too.
I chose the idea of a jacket from a previous project and adapted it to the horse show riding jackets i was researching for my current project, here's some more examples of the thirty outfits we had to design.
For our first major project our brief was Fashion V's Sport here are some of my initial drawings. I decided to go with Horse Riding as my sport but to create a more feminine fashion, creating a more couture high end outfit rather than a high street, something you could wear every day.
My illustration board, didn't really like it as much as my first i think i could have changed the colour maybe.

My burlesque inspired design ...might have been watching moulin rouge at the time.

Here is some of my design ideas, i loved the idea of this jacket so much i wanted to apply it to another project just so i could make it. some flowers i randomly drew in my sketchbook with black pen and watercolour.

This was my Neccessary, useful and beautiful project i like spending time on my sketchbook so i thought i would include my front cover i spent a bit of time on :)

This was my illustration in colour of the flat drawings, i had trouble choosing colours as the folk look tended to use more primary colours but i liked the fact i had taken influence from the shape and put my own twist on the colour and detail of the garment.

This is the front and back to a top i designed for a 'Folk' project i really liked my outcome and it was the first illustration board i had done. I really like the detail of a flat drawing but i still love illstration to pieces!!

Neccesary, useful and beautiful mood board. ^^
Organic mood board------------------------>
My first mood board for fashion.
I really enjoyed doing these, has to be one of my favourite parts of design.Sarah my design tutor thought she could she could see my mood board hanging up in a marcs and spencer underwear design department. I really liked that complement. I now have them hanging around like posters in my room as i like them so much.

London Fashion Weekend 2009

The Grecian Goddess

Oh MY GOD!!!!! i love those glasses, if you can't tell by the name of my page ....you could say i quite liked butterflies!!!!! i do!! This was the first time i had been to London Fashion Weekend i went with my lovely housemates Kit-Kat and Heather Beans, we caught the train to London and met Kat's sister and went for a girly shopping/take lots of pictures (these are a selected few of my favourites) the atmosphere was amazing surrounded by stalls of high end designer wear every piece completley unique and an ultimate pleasure to look at. As i gushed through the isles full of clothes all completey out of my price range...i did not need to buy anything...even out of the cutest underwear stall where everything just looked like it was hand crafted by fairies i realised to me it was enough to just see every dress and shoe just to be inspired to be where these people were, was enough!!!

This dress was my favourite out of the previews for spring /summer collections of this year -The Nude Look- mainly because i loved the fact the designer had made a dress seem like the model had put nothing on. The sheer elegance and the fact it showed flesh in a classy and pretty way made me like it even more, she looked like a Goddess!!! ..I rename this dress 'The Goddess dress' :)
